I was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, where I attended an all-girls school. After graduating high school, I ventured out to Santa Clara University in California, majoring in Accounting and Business. I attribute my success in both business pursuits and politics to my education, and the many dedicated teachers and professors who pushed me to succeed.
Upon graduating college, I chose to stay in Silicon Valley to begin my career working for a Big 4 firm. Here I focused on venture capital firms and venture-backed technology start ups. It was at this time that I qualified to be a Certified Personal Accountant (CPA), and I moved to Europe to offer my expertise in Poland’s burgeoning financial sector.
I then moved to London and spent 10 years collecting valuable experience in investment banking. There, I was the Chief Financial Officer of two different venture-backed firms, in addition to working in the legal department of the London Stock Exchange managing the firm’s intellectual capital.
17 years ago, my family and I returned to the United States via Palo Alto, California, where I once again worked in Silicon Valley as Chief Financial Officer of several tech start up companies. In these positions, I built various financial functions from the ground up, while raising our three children with my husband.
After almost 9 years in Palo Alto, my family and I moved to New Canaan, Connecticut. I have continued to work part time for technology companies while representing you in the CT State House of Representatives. I have been a diligent and committed leader and a tireless worker on behalf of all of my constituents.
